🔒 Zero Data Collection

TextGhost is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains that TextGhost does not collect, store, or share any personal data or user content. All image processing, text recognition, and editing operations happen entirely on your device. By using TextGhost, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

TextGhost is designed from the ground up to be privacy-first. We never collect:

• Personal Identifiable Information – such as your name, email address, phone number, or device ID.
• Images or Photos – the images you select from your album are never transmitted or stored outside your device. All editing stays local.
• Text Content – recognized text or any custom replacement text remains strictly on your iPhone/iPad.
• Usage Data – no analytics, session data, or telemetry about how you use features.
• Location, Contacts, or Camera – we request no access to location, contacts, or camera (only photo library access for picking images, which is controlled by iOS).
• Diagnostic or Crash Reports – we do not integrate any crash reporting SDKs.

2. Local Processing & Off-By-Design

Every operation inside TextGhost happens directly on your device using Apple’s native frameworks:

When you select an image from your album, TextGhost loads it into memory only for editing. Text recognition (mixed Chinese/English), font/style analysis, replacement compositing, undo/redo history — everything stays within the sandbox. Once you save the edited result, the output image is saved to your photo library at your request. The original image remains unaltered unless you explicitly overwrite the save operation (standard iOS photo library behavior). No data ever leaves your device — no cloud, no external servers, no background transfers.

3. Permissions & Your Control

TextGhost may request limited permissions only to enable core functionality. These permissions are standard and fully managed by iOS/iPadOS:

• Photo Library Access (Read & Write) – Required to select an image for editing and to save the final result. You can grant “Limited Access” or “Full Access” based on your preference. TextGhost never syncs or uploads your photos elsewhere.
• No Internet Access – The app contains no networking code. It will never ask for WiFi or cellular permissions. You can even use TextGhost in Airplane mode.

⚠️ Note: TextGhost does NOT request camera, microphone, contacts, motion, or Bluetooth permissions. You remain fully in control.

4. How Features Respect Your Privacy

📸 Intelligent Text Recognition

Powered by Apple’s Vision framework — all text detection and character recognition happen instantly on the neural engine of your device. No visual data is sent to any recognition service.

🔄 Seamless Replacement & Smart Style Matching

Text style analysis (font, color, size, alignment) uses local Core Graphics to retain original look. Your new custom text is never logged or externalized.

⏪ Multi-step Undo / Redo & Real-time Editing

Your editing session state (undo/redo stack) exists only in temporary memory and is discarded when you close the image or exit the app. No persistent history is stored outside the current session.

🌐 Multilingual Support (Chinese & English)

TextGhost can recognize Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English text without relying on cloud-based translation or OCR APIs. Your sensitive bilingual content never leaves your device.

5. Children’s Privacy

TextGhost does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app operates entirely offline and collects zero data, there is no risk of personal information being gathered from minors. Parents and guardians can feel confident allowing children to use TextGhost for creative image editing without privacy concerns.

6. No Third-Party Services or SDKs

TextGhost does not integrate any third-party libraries that transmit data (e.g., advertising SDKs, analytics frameworks, social media buttons, or crash reporters). The app is built purely with Apple’s native SDKs (Swift, UIKit/SwiftUI, Vision, Core Image, etc.). This means no external company receives any information about your usage, images, or device status.

7. Security Measures (On-Device Only)

Because TextGhost never collects or transmits data, the risk of data breach or unauthorized access is virtually eliminated. Your image files are stored only within your iOS sandbox container and system photo library. Standard iOS security protections (sandboxing, entitlements, file encryption) safeguard any temporary files created during the editing process. We do not store any user-generated content beyond the current session unless you decide to save the edited image manually.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect clarifications or improvements in transparency. Since no data collection exists, any changes will be about better describing our offline-first architecture. The latest version will always be available within the app or on request. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Even though we choose not to provide specific contact information in this policy, the MingMing Team is dedicated to user privacy.
